About

Built from operations, not theory

An external business partner for entrepreneurs and SMEs — built around procurement, operations and the day-to-day mechanics of running a small company.

Dominik Prelec founded Meridian after years working inside large retail organisations — in retail procurement, supplier negotiations, category and price management, and the daily execution that holds those decisions together — and on the supplier side of the same conversations.

Why Meridian exists

Most problems are operational, not strategic

Those years made one thing clear: most problems in small and mid-sized companies are not strategic. They are operational. Wrong supplier, untracked cost, missing process, an owner who is the only person who knows how anything actually works.

Meridian was built to work at that level. Structured but realistic. Aimed at decisions an owner can actually carry out next week.

Founder · Meridian Consulting

Dominik spent years inside a large retail organisation and on the supplier side — in procurement, supplier negotiations, category and price management, and the daily execution that holds those decisions together. The texture of those years matters more than the titles: how cost structures actually look once they are opened up, how suppliers behave when alternatives become visible, where small companies leak margin without noticing.

Meridian Consulting brings that experience to sole proprietors and small companies in a format they can actually use — concise business plans, practical procurement work, business organisation and product development. The approach is structured but realistic. The deliverable is not a thicker document; it is a decision the owner can implement on Monday.

Sitting on both sides of the table is rare — procurement inside a large retailer, and commercial work on the supplier side. Meridian grew out of that perspective.

Approach

An external commercial partner, not a vendor of slide decks.

The scope is honest, the conclusions are plain, and the recommendations are written so they can survive contact with daily operations. The job ends when the owner can act — not when the document is sent.

  • Analytical rigour
Decisions backed by data and commercial logic — not by the loudest voice in the room.
  • Operational realism
Recommendations that survive the first month of execution, not only the meeting.
  • Discretion
Confidential, direct dialogue with owners and management.
  • Long-term perspective
Choices weighed for durability, not for the next quarter's headline.

Practical experience

Practical case examples

Meridian Consulting is built on practical business experience — from business planning and launch preparation to procurement, supplier communication, operations and commercial development. These examples show the type of business logic behind our consulting approach.

The examples include own and connected business projects. Their purpose is to show the type of work and the kind of problems Meridian helps with — not to present them as standard external consulting clients.
